Sloppy Joes

After having the opportunity to do a review and giveaway on Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce, I decided a great meal to use it in would be Sloppy Joes. I have to say, after years of using the same recipe, this sauce is exactly what was “missing” to give it that little kick. For details on the review I did and other meals we used it with, click here.

Please Note: When I cook, I usually “eyeball” most things and rarely use actual measurements. If this is your first time making this, my recommendation would be “less is more”. You can always add ingredients (salt, pepper, sauce, etc), but you can’t take them away if you put too much.

Sloppy Joes

One pound ground round or ground turkey
1/2 white or yellow onion, diced
One tablespoon oil
One 8oz can tomato sauce
Ketchup (pour one complete circle)
Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce (pour two complete circles)
Salt and Pepper to taste

Put the oil and diced onion in a medium pot. Sautee it for a couple of minutes over medium heat, but don’t let the onion get brown.
Add your meat and cook it until you no longer see any pink. Stir often. Drain the excess grease and return pot to stove.
Add the salt, pepper, and can of tomato sauce.
Add the ketchup and Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce as described above.
Stir until blended well.
Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for at least 15-20 minutes, until most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally.
Serve and enjoy!!!
