Shopping with FREE Coupons!

Tuesdays and Sundays are typically my shopping days. So, after my son left for school today, I headed out as well. CVS Pharmacy was my first stop and I was “armed” with several coupons for FREE products. As soon as I was inside the store, I scanned my ExtraCare Card and a coupon for $1.00 OFF Kellogg’s cereal printed. BONUS: there was no minimum size in the fine print.
I was able to redeem all of my FREE product coupons except for two. The items I did get are in the picture above: one 4-Pack Double Roll Cottonelle toilet paper, two 24-count Excedrin Migraine, one bag of Peppermint Patties, and one single serve of Kellogg’s Apple Jacks.
In an effort of “full disclosure” there were a couple of errors on the receipt. I am confident I triple checked the coupon for the Cottonelle toilet paper for a maximum value dollar amount and didn’t see one listed. The receipt shows that only $3.97 of the $4.69 I was charged came off. On the flip side, the coupon for the free package of candy had a maximum value of $2.00. The full amount of the coupon came off even though the candy was only $1.50. I didn’t catch the errors until I was already home. To call or not to call management, that is the question. Considering I got everything listed above for only 95 cents, I think I am going to just let it go and not call. What would YOU do?
I redeemed one of the two remaining coupons at a local grocery store across the street from CVS Pharmacy. I was able to get a Tony’s frozen pizza FREE. They were on sale: 5 for $10.00, which is still a really good deal. The other coupon will have to wait for a third store since neither of the other two carry the item. Overall, I think I had a great spending day! (no pun intended)
For your convenience, I post as many FREE SAMPLES and/or COUPONS that I can find on the Matter of Cents Facebook and Twitter pages. However, the coupon bar at the top of the screen will give you direct access anytime you want or need. Another BONUS: in addition to PRINTABLE coupns, you will also have access to coupon CODES if you prefer to shop online (like I do)!

  1. I would let it go. I have the same coupon for the free 4-pack and it does say "not to exceed $3.97". You got a great deal for .95!

  2. Let me rephrase, I THINK I have the same coupon, since I'm not positive. 😉

  4. Thank you all for your feedback and for letting me know there actually is a max value on the coupon. I swear I looked and looked and didn't see it. LOL (Matter of Cents)
