SodaStream Soda Maker Review

While growing up, I learned how to make a lot of things “from scratch“: pasta, wine, and Italian sausage just to name a few. I come from a very traditional Italian family and these things were expected to be passed onto the children. Making anything yourself typically turns out to be a LOT less expensive than having someone else do it. I am all for saving money on stuff I can do myself!
Fast forward 20 years later, I jumped at the chance to do a review for a SodaStream Soda Maker. The notion that I could make my own soda in less than a minute was very appealing to me. Also, when I took into consideration one bottle of flavor syrup makes 12 liters (33 cans) of drinks, I realized that made it a really great deal too. With over 30 syrups to choose from including leading regular and diet flavors, I was thrilled.
Bonus: there isn’t anything to throw away and clean-up is easy. The bottles are reusable which makes them environmentally friendly! If this is as important to you as it is to me, click here to read more.
In addition to price, variety, and being easy to use, convenience is always a factor when I want to purchase something. I love that I can order online if I can’t make it to one of the authorized retailers in my area. To find a store near you that carries the SodaStream product line, click here. Prefer to shop online? I would love to hear from you. Have you tried any of the SodaStream products? Which ones are your favorites? Mine were the root beer, green tea (peach pomegranate), and diet pink grapefruit!

Awesome review!! I would love to try Soda Stream!! 🙂 Out Alexa Hopping!

  3. I really want to get one of these but I can't get the rest of the house to jump on board! They can't figure out how it would end up being cheaper and the fact that they'd have to take a moment to actually *make* something rather than open a bottle and pour hasn't gone over too well either (can you tell I live with men? lol) But I'm confident eventually I will win this battle…

Katie ~ It literally takes less than a minute: fill the bottle with water, screw it onto the soda maker, press the button three times (more if you want more fizz), add the syrup, done. Easy peasy.

  5. Melissa says:

Interesting. I didn't know there was something out there to make your own soda. Dropping by from the Alexa hop!

  6. Matter of Cents says:

Becky ~ you should definitely look into it! As for homemade wine, it's DEFINITELY a lot harder to make than homemade soda. LOL!

  7. We have a soda stream and we love it!!!

  8. TisforTonya says:

ManOfTheHouse wanted one of these pretty badly – but I just couldn't bring myself to do it…

mostly because we only drink soda a few times a year…

but the ease/convenience would probably up that number!

  10. I drink soda all the time. I think the amount of it I drink is the worst habit I have! What a fun review to do!

Julia ~ the best part is, with over 30 flavors to choose from, you'll never get tired of the same stuff all the time. In addition to the root beer, I love the Green Tea Pomegranate Peach, Cranberry-Raspberry, and Diet Pink Grapefruit.

I have a soda stream and use it every so often, not a huge soda drinker. but when I want some its there.

I have seen these and have wanted to try it, but not very practical for me. I don't drink soda and my husband drinks it so seldom that it wouldn't be feasible for us. Very cool and looks like fun.

We have a SodaStream also and we love it! I drink a lot of soda so this was a lot better price wise and health wise. Most of the bottles I received are gone already, so we'll have to get more soon. I think anyone who drinks soda should try this!
