Nutrisystem Update: Week 10! #NSNation

This week's update is going to be short and sweet. My tenth week on the Nutrisystem program ended Sunday. Aunt Flo has officially left the building and the scale as well as my body are cooperating with each other again. Thanksgiving is a couple of days away and I am really looking forward to spending time with my family.

I hope you all have a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving! If you are working towards a weight loss goal, feel free to read through the tips that were given to me. Even though the food will be front and center, let's focus on what is most important: our loved ones who help us realize why we are grateful for what we have and those we love.

Week 10 Loss: 1.2 pounds

Total Loss in ten weeks: 18 pounds

Each week I will update the blog with any progress I've made as well as what I did to get there: the foods I ate and any activities I participated in. I hope you will help cheer me on, share words of wisdom, or anything else regarding this topic. I would love to hear from you!

Here is a list of "Nutrisystem Holiday Survival Smarts" shared with me by Meredith. I plan to read them every day until all of the holiday parties have come and gone…and even beyond that!

For Details on each tip, you can refer to my Week 9 Update where I posted them the first time.

Nutrisystem Holiday Survival Smarts 10 Diet-friendly Strategies for Thanksgiving and Beyond. The holiday season is a dreaded time for many people on a weight loss program, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Here are ten easy ways you can enjoy the celebration days without feeling punished or sacrificing your Nutrisystem progress.

1. Have a plan.

2. Stay on track.

3. Set a goal.

4. Drink smart.

5. Trim the calories.

6. Enlist support.

7. Keep moving.

8. Quality not Quantity. If you do plan to indulge in some of the traditional Thanksgiving favorites, use these portions as a guideline:

  • Turkey—3 oz. white meat, no skin (about the size of a deck of cards)
  • Mashed potatoes—1/3 cup (about the size of half of a baseball)
  • Gravy—1 Tbsp. (just drizzle it)
  • Relish made with sugar—1 Tbsp.
  • Stuffing—2 Tbsp.
  • Dinner Roll—if not homemade, skip it
  • Pie—1/12 of a 9” pie

9. Eat Before You Go.

10. Embrace the holiday spirit.
