Del Monte New Fruit Cups: Perfectly Proportioned for a Smoothie! #SmartSnack #CBias

I am always on the lookout for a healthy snack I can feed my children. Del Monte New Fruit Cups are not only good for you, but they taste great too! The most recent varieties to hit the shelves are Diced Apples & Pears with Caramel Flavor and Diced Pears with Vanilla Spice. These fruit cups are high on my "to buy" list because they are only 60 calories per serving, gluten free, and do not include high fructose corn syrup

Del Monte New Fruit Cups: Perfectly Proportioned for a Smoothie!

I recently went on the hunt to find these two Del Monte new fruit cups. To view my entire shopping trip, check out my Google+ photo album.

Fortunately, two of my three children love to eat fruit as much as I do. It doesn't matter what kind it is or how it's served, they will devour it and sometimes ask for more! "My little middle child" (a.k.a. my picky eater) will only consume it in the form of a smoothie. Luckily for me, all four of us love smoothies. So, that's what I decided to make with the Diced Pears with Vanilla & Spice fruit cups.

Smoothies are so much fun and easy to make. My blender recently broke when I moved, but the kids didn't mind because I have a blender bottle I use as a backup. It is small enough so they can each help make their own. Simple steps:

1 Del Monte Diced Pears with Vanilla & Spice Fruit Cup

1 6oz (individual serving) Vanilla Nonfat Yogurt

Splash of Apple Juice (optional)

Dash of Cinnamon (optional)

Add all ingredients to blender bottle, shake, and serve.

The apple juice is optional because there was actually enough in the fruit cup to create the consistency we wanted. If you prefer your smoothie a little thinner, you can add it.

Side Note: Since I didn't use a regular blender, the fruit was still a little chunky in the cup. If you also use a blender bottle, I recommend smashing the fruit with a fork before adding it.

I love those dimples and he loved his smoothie!

  1. I love Del Monte fruit cups!  Never thought to make a smoothie with them, what a great idea!  Your kids are so cute!  🙂

Thanks, Mindy! I think they’re pretty adorable too. LOL! <3 We love fruit smoothies and sometimes it's more cost efficient (not to mention convenient/time saver) to use the fruit cups vs fresh produce. Plus, the kids can help with making their own since the fruit is already diced. 🙂

  2. What a great idea to use these in a smoothie!  It is especially nice because it already has some of the natural juices so you cut back on the additional liquid as well.

  3. That smoothie is a great idea!  What a clever way to serve a daily dose of fruit!

Thank you! I really appreciate your feedback. My son is extremely picky and it’s the only way I can get him to eat fruit. 🙂
