How I Chose An Evening Dress For A June Wedding

A few months ago, I shared the wonderful news of my brother’s engagement to his girlfriend. You can read about how he popped the question and the celebration that followed here.

Several things have happened since then. In August, the happy couple bought their first house together and his fiancee celebrated her 30th birthday. In September, my brother hit the same milestone and they set the date for the wedding: June 7, 2014!

Both families are extremely excited and very much looking forward to their nuptials. While the wedding plans are in full swing, I have already started thinking about what I should wear.

A friend of mine told me about DressFirst and I immediately started browsing their website. When I hovered my mouse over the “Wedding Party Dresses”, the category for “Mother of the Bride Dresses” caught my eye. Despite the fact that I am not the “Mom” of neither the bride nor the groom, I have felt a certain maternal connection toward my brother given our 11-year age difference. I remember the day he was born and watched him grow into the man he is today. My mind was made up and I clicked the link.

I almost instantly saw and fell in love with this dress: A-Line/Princess V-neck Tea-Length Chiffon Tulle Mother of the Bride Dress With Ruffle Beading
